Camerawork: shots and angles

 Doctor who camerawork:


1) Pick three camera shots from the Doctor Who scene and explain what type of shot it is and what meanings or effect they have on the audience.

 Big Close up:

The big close up shot at 0:46 show that the doctor was saying something important so it was coming closer and closer until it made to the big close up shot.She was talking a device called a 'subwave' that was undetectable to the other people on the video chat. This sets the scene that she is telling something important that intrigued everyone.

Two shot:


  


The two shot at 0:09 shows when they are on the video chat .The doctor was introducing the mother to everyone. In this image, it also shows her son. The camera comes from the edge getting a good view of the both of them also identifying that there two people in the picture. This is shown to tell the audience the names of the people.


2) Pick one camera angle that is used in the scene and explain the effect it has on the audience. 



In this Image, the low angle is shown. It makes the image look big and powerful. The image is really colourful which makes the view stand out.  



3) Pick one aspect of mise-en-scene from the scene and explain what connotations are being communicated to the audience.


Makeup and hair -  The male has blue eyes, hazelnut hair and has a black jacket. He looks a little bit of American. So does the girl, she has black hair and a white tone of skin . They are figuring out something which is really important information for the audience. Their appearance also makes the audience satisfied with who they are.
