Denotation

In this WaterAids advert, I can see a poor kid demonstrating poverty. There is a : slogan , logo which is an example of written and verbal codes. The colours are red and white which is the company's colours. I can also see Santa which represents Christmas.

Connotation

This advert's meaning is all about is Christmas. The meaning behind this advert is to attract the costumers into buying the product. This will make them want to drink more. The colour red stand out while the colour white is calm. This makes the advert more abstract.
