Mise-en-scene: Stranger Things Analysis:


Actor placement/movement expression: There were 4 boys dressed casually and placed as the main characters. One of  the boys rationally went to a forbidden place. The director made us think the boy was being chased by some creature. His facial expression was was scared and intimidating and sets a good example.


Setting: The film first started at an elevator which set the scene as a man moving in the elevator. It was a horrifying scene as a creature snatched the character . And later when the little boy enters the dimly lit streets which gave the setting of familiar and eerie .The streetlights flicker, casting long shadows creating an unsettling atmosphere. When he enters the house, it creates a claustrophobic feeling by seeing more and more shadows on the thick walls. It panicked the character and yet when we thought something was going to open the door of the room, it showed us the single dim lightbulb hanging on the ceiling.

Denotation and Connotation

                                    1) Write an analysis of the  WaterAid advert above  using denotation, connotation and analysis. What can you see? What are the deeper meanings in the advert? What does the advert communicate to the audience? How might an audience react after seeing the advert? Denotation In this WaterAids advert, I can see a poor kid demonstrating poverty. There is a : slogan , logo which is an exa mple of written and verbal codes. The slogan also demonstrates that the people there are in a bad state in there life. I can see some Symbolic or non verbal code such as the typography which demonsrates the blur behind the boy and the context. The boy face stands out for the consumers to help. Connotation In the WaterAids advert, the connotations of colour scheme beige and white could represent to donate some money to these orphans and poor people.
